The coaching was months ago. The hard conversation is this afternoon.

Your managers learned how to give feedback in a workshop last quarter. But the tough review, the underperformer, the conversation they keep avoiding — those happen on a random Tuesday. The training and the moment never meet.

FAQs

What is AI manager coaching?

AI manager coaching is agentic AI that supports managers in their actual conversations — 1:1s, feedback, reviews, and difficult conversations — rather than in a one-off workshop. In Zensai, it works inside Microsoft Teams: it preps the manager, coaches the wording, and leaves a record, while the manager keeps the judgment and the final call.

How does AI help with difficult conversations?

Before the conversation, AI summarizes what’s changed since last time so the manager walks in informed. As they draft what they’ll say, it coaches the wording — flagging what’s vague or unintentionally harsh — so a difficult message lands clearly and fairly. The manager decides what to say; the AI helps them say it well.

Does the AI write feedback or reviews for managers?

No. The AI drafts a starting point and coaches the quality — clarity, specificity, tone — but the words and the judgment stay with the manager. It catches a curt or vague phrase before it’s sent; it doesn’t decide what someone’s feedback should be. The result is a better message than the manager would have sent alone, not an automated one.

What’s the difference between AI coaching for managers and a leadership workshop?

A workshop builds capability in advance; AI coaching shows up in the moment the capability is needed. The two work together — leadership development teaches the skill, and AI leadership coaching makes sure it actually appears in the Tuesday-afternoon conversation, not just in the training room.

How does it help with reviews and review feedback?

The review starts from an AI synthesis of the year’s check-ins and goals, drawn from the real record — so recency bias drops and the manager isn’t writing from a blank page. The manager adds judgment and context; the AI coaches the review feedback for clarity and fairness before it’s shared.

Is it safe, auditable, and does it train on our data?

Yes to the first two, no to the third. The AI runs inside your Microsoft 365 tenant, grounded in your own organizational context. Your data isn’t used to train models outside your tenant.

Which Zensai edition includes AI manager coaching?

AI manager coaching is available in Grow as part of check-ins. However, to use this feature as part of — conversation prep, feedback coaching, and review synthesis — you will need the Scale edition. Add Transform to bring in engagement insights, so coaching draws on sentiment as well as performance.

Does AI replace human managers or coaches?

No — the opposite. It makes every manager a better coach in the moments that matter, instead of leaving coaching to a workshop most won’t remember. The relationship, the judgment, and the decisions stay human; the AI just makes sure good coaching shows up when it’s needed.

Which Microsoft tools does it work in?

It works where managers already are. Because Zensai is built natively in Microsoft 365, the coaching happens in the flow of work, not in a separate tool managers have to remember to open.
