Your LMS doesn’t reach 80% of your staff because they’re frontline or deskless

Most learning systems were built for people at desks. So your frontline ends up on a workaround: a separate app, makeshift courses, email reminders, and paper sign-offs. All while the health, safety and compliance training that matters most is the hardest to confirm got done.

70–80 %
of the global workforce is deskless — about 2.7 billion people
66 %
of deskless workers are digitally disconnected from their company
43 %
of deskless workers are at risk of leaving their jobs

FAQs

What is frontline (deskless) worker training software?

Frontline training software delivers learning, safety, and compliance training to employees, franchisees, contractors or seasonal workers who don’t work at a desk — on mobile or shared devices, wherever they work. Zensai offers frontline worker training options inside and outside Microsoft 365. Workers with Microsoft 365 licenses can use the same system as their desk-based peers. Non-Microsoft users can access learning from a mobile app or browser on a shared device. L&D teams and managers support frontline workers (e.g. track mandatory training) from the same platform they use to manage their desk-based staff.

What is a deskless worker?

A deskless worker does their job away from a desk or company computer — on a shop floor, in a vehicle, in a store, or in the field. Deskless roles make up an estimated 70–80% of the global workforce, and they’re the hardest for a traditional LMS without dedicated frontline training software to reach.

What are the benefits of frontline training software?

One system for the whole workforce, training that reaches people on mobile or shared devices, and provable safety and compliance completion — instead of a blind spot in your records and extra admin burden on people managers who might otherwise have to track learning completions via emails, on-site discussions and spreadsheets.

Do we need to replace our HRIS?

No. Zensai reads from Entra ID and connects to 80+ HRIS systems, including Workday and SAP. For frontline workers without Microsoft 365 licenses, accounts can be created and managed directly in the Zensai system.

What does the AI do for frontline training?

A specific named job: AI drafts a frontline course from a safety SOP and helps build the skills framework, so L&D starts from a draft, not a blank page. Your team reviews and approves what goes live — the judgment stays human, and the work is tracked.

Which edition includes frontline training?

Frontline and deskless worker access is part of the Grow edition, the entry edition of the Zensai Platform — alongside onboarding and compliance. Scale and Transform add performance and engagement capabilities on top, with management and reporting in the same platform inside Microsoft 365.

How do deskless workers access it without a Microsoft 365 license each?

Frontline worker access delivers training to deskless employees who don’t each hold a Microsoft 365 license — so you can reach your whole workforce based on how it’s actually made up, not on who has a license. Workers who do have licenses get the full experience.

Will frontline workers actually use it?

Training arrives on the device they already have, in short pieces that fit the shift — not on a back-office PC they rarely touch. Marvin reached 230,000+ course registrations in a year working this way.

Does it work offline — is there an offline training app for low-connectivity sites?

Yes. The mobile app lets workers download course content and learn offline — on a factory floor, in a warehouse, or in the field — then syncs their progress when they reconnect. So poor connectivity doesn’t stop required training from getting done.

What do our customers say about Zensai?

Our customers are our best proof, and on G2, that proof comes straight from verified reviews rather than analyst or vendor input. Reviewers point to the same strengths again and again: an experience that feels native to Microsoft 365, a rollout that’s fast and low-friction, and a support team they genuinely trust.
